Graduate School Orientation check-in for Late Arrivals on Tuesday Aug. 22-30 and later is held at 246 Church Street, University Registrar’s Office, from 9am-4pm Weekdays. As you are checking in late, it may take more time to complete the process and involve more steps than the main GSAS checkin Aug. 21 which you missed. Please bring your required documents fro GSAS checkin & I9 processing.

*If you are a degree seeking student who will be late arriving due to some unforseen circumstance, please email mcdougal.center@yale.edu to let us know if possible.

All degree-seeking GSAS Students are required to attend events on August 24 GSAS Matriculation Day, including the mandatory Professional Ethics sessions. Session leaders will take attendance, and a makeup session required if missed.

All new Graduate School students are required to complete a Federal Form I-9 at orientation check-in before you can receive your Yale student ID. We provide Form I-9 at check-in, but you must bring original, unexpired documents as listed on the link above. Please note that you can either bring one document from List A – OR – one document each from List B and List C.

International students selecting from List A should bring Form I-94 {print out your copy), I-20 or DS-2019 along with the passport.

Once you complete the I-9 process, if you do not have any registration holds (health, transcripts), you will get your Yale ID, and your Orientation nametag. If you need to clear up an ID or health or transcript hold, we will inform you how to do that. Limited Staff will be available to answer some questions as needed.

Spouses are welcome to attend checkin and Orientation events with the student, but spouse affiliate IDs are not available until September 15 at SFAS, 246 Church Street
