Scott Abramson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Rochester. He was previously a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute. He received his PhD from the Department of Politics at Princeton University in 2015. His research is motivated by topics of political development at the intersection of international relations and comparative politics. He has specifically been focusing on questions of state formation that seek to understand why modern territorial states arose in Europe and then came to be the modal form of political organization across the globe.
