Jock Reynolds, the Henry J. Heinz II Director of the Yale University Art Gallery, and Marta Kuzma, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Dean of the Yale University School of Art, invite you to a celebration of the extraordinary life of Richard Benson—Dean Emeritus of the Yale School of Art, renowned photographer, beloved teacher, mentor, colleague, and friend. Distinguished speakers will offer remembrances and tributes in the Robert L. McNeil, Jr., Lecture Hall, to be followed by a reception in the Jan and Frederick Mayer Lobby.

A broad array of Benson’s photographs and book projects will be on view throughout the museum, with special installations in the lobby, the Richard and Jane Manoogian Foundation Galleries of American Art before 1900, and the James E. Duffy Study Room. Attendees are welcome to linger in the galleries until the museum closes at 5:00 pm.
