Three student-run undergraduate singing groups come together to introduce new Yalies to the wide range of music made at Yale. As one of the country’s premier Jewish a cappella groups, Magevet offers a wide range of Jewish, Hebrew, and Israeli music presented in unique, original arrangements. The Yale Slavic Chorus is Yale’s oldest all-female musical group, and sings traditional tunes from Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and elsewhere. Tangled Up in Blue (or “TUIB” for short) is Yale’s only American Folk and Bluegrass singing group, singing a wide range of folk tunes and accompanying themselves on guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, and others. This event is mainly for freshmen, but all members of the Yale community are welcome. Com to learn more about music at Yale, and enjoy an evening of tunes and merriment!
